The HCG Weight Loss Protocol The HCG treatment consists of a very low calorie diet (VLCD) in combination with HCG hormone treatments. During the 23 days treatment you regularly take a small amount of HCG into your body. Be aware that the HCG itself does not cause weight loss, it just modifies your eating behavior. This will make it possible to maintain the diet. HCG helps to burn the “mobile fat”; that is the fat that is stored around the hips, thighs, belly and upper arms. It will however leave the so called “structural fat”, that can be found in the muscles and protects the organs, untouched. This way the excess fat will disappear even faster, the problem areas will be dealt with more efficiently in this way of losing weight. PLEASE NOTE: This diet takes a 26 day commitment. If you are unwilling to commit to the diet for this long, then this diet isn't for you. Also, BEFORE you start, don't forget to measure yourself – i.e. your thighs, hips, waist, bust, arms. You WILL drop many inches. Some people drop more than 20 inches (you add the inches up - i.e 3 from the waist, 2 from the thighs, 2 from the bust, 1 from each arm, etc) in just the first 2 weeks. Even when there is only a 5-10 pound weight loss, you can still lose the inches. This is because you are losing FAT, and FAT weighs less than muscle. If you do mess up by eating a little bit larger meal than you intended, that should be fine. It won’t ruin your diet. Just be careful with the sugars/carbs and the fats. Diet Summary: 2 days of pigging out and taking the HcG 18 days of restricted eating while taking the HcG 3 days of restricted eating AFTER finishing the HcG (this is the first step to the maintenance phase) 21 days of “watching what you eat” – The maintenance phase. When you stop taking the HCG, you need to continue the diet for another three days. At the end of the three days, you can start eating anything you please, except sugar and starch, provided you faithfully observe one simple rule. This rule is that you must have your own scale always at hand, particularly while traveling. You must weigh every morning as you get out of bed, without clothes, after having emptied your bladder, before breakfast or liquids of any kind. It takes approximately 3 weeks before the weight reached at the end of the treatment becomes stable. For example, it does not show violent fluctuations after an occasional excess. During this period you must realize that carbohydrates, meaning: SUGAR, RICE, BREAD, POTATOES, PASTRIES, etc are by far the most dangerous. If no carbohydrates are consumed, fats can be indulged somewhat more liberally and even small quantities of alcohol, such as a glass of wine with meals, will do no harm. When fats and starches are combined, weight gain can get out of hand. This has to be observed very carefully during the first 3 weeks after the treatment is ended otherwise weight gain is very likely. After this allotted time you can eat whatever you want as long as you follow the maintenance phase and weigh yourself every day. So what are you waiting for ?
